Creativity
I am disheartened that our school system has suppressed creative thinking. Everyone talks about how the kids misbehave and don’t want to learn. I don’t subscribe to that philosophy. Children inherently have a thirst for knowledge and learning. Think about your own children as babies, their curiosity about the world around them and wanting to touch, feel and experience everything. I firmly believe we are diminishing this in our little learning sponges because we don’t celebrate and encourage creative thinking. We can’t do that with a standardized test. Our teachers need to be allowed to use creativity to inspire, and we need to hold teachers accountable for stifling a child’s natural desire to learn and create. I will never apologize for my different way of thinking. The irony is real.
