D'Nealian in 2nd grade
Writing letters in reverse is common for second graders due to it being a developmental skill. "Here" are some practice handwriting sheets to help with letters. One of the best ways to address reversals is to have your student practice 4-5 times a week using correct formation. Repetition is very important. One strategy that I recommend is to habitually practice correct responses which in turn causes it to become well established. Here is an alphabet chart:
In my class we sit together on a weekly basis writing / correcting rough drafts and students are then expected to make corrections. During center time students use white boards to practice writing. I continue to work with my students throughout the year by correcting any errors they may display.
