Adjectives in 2nd grade

I can understand and use adjectives in the contexts of reading, writing, and speaking. (2.21A.iii)

Classroom Activity:

Choose a short story or a book that you have been reading, choose a character and have students look for adjectives in the story to describe the character.

Independent Practice: Provide sentence strip segments with a noun written on each. Have the student race a two-minute timer to write as many adjectives as possible to describe the noun. The student with the most adjectives wins the round.
