Proud Teacher Moment
Cutest moment this week was yesterday in my classroom. I have this small bookshelf that collapsed on me Wednesday and just haven’t had the time to repair it. One of my students from the beginning of the school year stepped on it to try to change my classroom schedule (without permission).
While working in small groups two of my boys wanted to turn in their finished work, but my bins were all mixed up. They took it upon themselves to repair the damaged bookshelf. First the pulled all the shelves off and corrected the pegs. I noticed on of them using (extreme glue stick). It was around 9a.m. One of the students came to afterwards with a very serious look of a carpenter and stated that it should be good to go by 10a.m. I told them both thank-you.
I knew that stick glue wasn’t going to make a difference, but they just really thought that was what was going to make it stick together. We continued with class and at 10a.m after our restroom break they checked it again and put my shelves back on it. They actually managed to get the shelf to stay together. Never underestimate a second grader!
