Monuments

2nd grade teaches all about monuments, if you live in Texas. The Alamo is one of the few they learn about. Learning from doing and seeing is ten times more effective then looking at a worksheet. When I taught in the classroom I always encouraged my students to bring back pamphlets, pictures or trinkets to share with the class. I miss the times when we took field trips. Unfortunately,  the funding just isn't there anymore.
