Teaching Subject & Predicate
First Review the meaning of a subject and predicate, then create an anchor chart.
Divide class into two groups. The subject group and the predicate group. This can get to be really fun! Give each student a sentence strip to write on (or pre-write for faster pace). The subject group should write a subject on the letter strip. Remember a subject (noun) can be a person, place, thing or idea. Examples could be; The brown basket, Grandma, The little girl in the polka dot dress, The bouncy ball, The gray frightening cloud, etc. (Be creative and have fun)
